As a Warehouse Associate - MHE in Killingly, you will help the distribution center meet daily goals by safely moving, storing, and preparing product for outbound delivery. Training is provided.

After applying, engage in a brief conversation via text (typically same day) to schedule an interview We'll let you know if you're not eligible to move forward In‑person interviews are conducted at the Killingly Distribution Center Play an active role in helping your distribution center and your customers win: Become certified as a Material Handling Equipment Operator (MHEO) and safely operate required equipment Select product from rack or floor locations and build pallets, carts, and cages for shipment Move product throughout the warehouse using MHE (reach truck, turret truck, stock picker, pallet jack) Operate RF scanning equipment to receive and verify work assignments Load finished pallets and operate automated shrink‑wrapping equipment Move product between reserve, putaway, replenishment, and pick locations Verify pallet accuracy and resolve discrepancies Maintain wide‑aisle and overflow storage locations Inspect power equipment prior to operation and report safety concerns Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all safety procedures to prevent injury and product damage Assist in other departments and perform additional duties as assigned Essential skills and experience: Ability to work Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, and overtime when needed Demonstrated regular attendance and must have the ability to work additional hours beyond the scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business need Minimum 3 months of warehouse experience, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, or carry product up to 100 pounds Ability to work at average heights of 8-9 feet, and up to 30 feet at times Ability to stand and walk for the full duration of the shift Ability to perform moderate physical effort, including bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, climbing, and crouching Comfort working in a moderate‑noise warehouse environment Basic English reading, writing, and math skills; basic data entry Detail-oriented, ability to follow directions, and collaborate with other team members Must pass a background check and drug screen Staples does not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position Preferred skills and experience: High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience Prior experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, reach truck, turret truck, or stock picker W ork conditions: Work at heights up to 29 feet using material handling equipment Work in hot environments up to approximately 95°F at upper warehouse levels during summer months Work in cold environments as low as 10°F on receiving docks during winter months Able to work in seasonal temperature variations The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
