The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our yard and overall operations. This position involves various tasks related to materials handling, loading and unloading, shipping and receiving, picking orders as instructions on a spec/load sheet and ensuring that the yard is organized and safe. The Yard Worker will work closely with the Yard Manager and other team members to ensure that all operations run smoothly. Part Time Yard Worker Duties Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, for loading and unloading materials. Perform order picking and loading and unloading various trucks according to daily spec/load sheets. Carefully inspect all products going out into the field and upon return from the field. Make necessary repairs as needed. Attach and remove windscreen to fence panels as required by daily orders. Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring that all materials are properly documented, counted for and handled. Maintain a clean and organized yard, adhering to OSHA safety standards at all times. Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues as needed. Collaborate with Yard Manager to optimize workflow and efficiency within the yard. Engage in heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury. Support special projects by providing necessary materials and assistance as needed. Part Time Yard Worker Qualifications Previous experience in warehouse distribution or similar environments is preferred. Familiarity with order picking processes and the ability to work outside. Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts is highly desirable. Ability to handle materials safely while adhering to OSHA regulations. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate order fulfillment. Capability of performing heavy lifting tasks regularly throughout the shift. Prior experience in shipping & receiving operations is beneficial but not mandatory.
