Job Title:

Warehouse Worker Job Description The primary role of a warehouse worker is to efficiently manage the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials, equipment, and other items from stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. Responsibilities Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using a computer. Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, investigating discrepancies, or adjusting errors. Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas. Label stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors. Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers. Essential Skills Verbal and written communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving ability. Ability to work effectively as a team player and maintain a detail-oriented approach. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Old Lyme, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $20.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
