Job Description

Summary of Position:
The Material Handler is responsible for the orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed. As well as loading and unloading materials from inspection frames and staging finished products for final distribution. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. The Material Handler I works under the close direction of their supervisor or manager. Must be able to train on 1st shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilize batch trucks, overhead hoists, and pallet trucks.
  • Organize finished goods when they are put in the warehouse.
  • Organize pre-inspected goods.
  • Utilize strapping machine and handheld strapping tool.
  • Utilize scales and saws.
  • Keep inspection frames loaded with all supplies needed for work assigned.
  • Process associated documentation including ship memo worksheets, final inspection examiners report, as well as stop tags.
  • Set up the staging area for the inspection of goods that need to be, inspected.
  • Maintain a neat organized and clean work area. This includes and is not, limited to the following duties which are to be, done daily:
  • Sweep floor and empty scrap bin.
  • Assist in inventory of all boxes, tapes, etc.
Must be able to pick up 50 to 75 lbs.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of 6 months experience in a material handling or related industry, preferably in a fabric or roll goods manufacturing environment.
