Job Description
Schedule Requirements:
8:00 AM- 4:30 PM Two weekdays off each week Must have weekend availability
Mission Contribution:
Advance Goodwill's mission by ensuring efficient, accountable, and mission-aligned operations within your department. By maintaining excellence in service and support functions, you help create an inclusive, transparent, and compassionate work environment that enables Goodwill to provide life-changing opportunities. Primary Function Under the direction of the Donation Acquisition Specialist, the Material Handler is responsible for operations related to the sorting of donated textiles and electronics, including the breakdown of recyclable materials to maximize profits in support of Goodwill's mission.Essential Functions:
Operate tipper, baler machine; pallet jack, hand trucks and/or other safety sensitive equipment Process donations according to Goodwill procedures Empty salvage into Baler; Cut cardboard strips and place them on top and bottom of bales; Secure bales with wire, tip bale onto hand cart and remove bale from baler to store in weighing area; Follow all safety procedures; Report safety concerns and violation immediately; Responsible for wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (hard hat gloves and safety glasses etc.) Keep work area clean, safe and tidy; Follow all hazardous waste procedures; Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record; Perform other related duties as required; Receive and sort incoming cardboard, computer, wires and electronic accessories; Follow all recycling process for cardboard and electronics.Competencies:

Handling Multiple Tasks Requirements:
Good communication skills and attention to detail Able to follow instructions and comply with policies and procedures Able to work with minimal supervision Able to maintain good relationships with co-workers Must be able to pass a background check Complete all required screenings and certifications Must be certified to operate the baler and forklift within 2 weeks (IFOPERATING THE MACHINE
) Flexible and willing to learn Must be able to understand and follow training instructions. Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly goals as assigned by supervisors Good work ethic Consent to random drug screenings quarterlyQualifications:
High School degree or equivalent, preferredPhysical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move a minimum of 100 pounds with or without assistance Able to move 1000 pounds with assistance Able to lift heavy bags and toss into baler Able to perform constant physical labor throughout the day- most labor involves repetitive upper body movement, twisting and bending Good eye-hand coordination and good vision Walking, pushing, standing, stooping, lifting and carrying required Typical Work Environment Works primarily indoors but exposed to a wide range of temperatures Occasionally must work on the trucks as a helper Will possibly be working alongside others with social, mental, and emotional disabilities Material Handler & Equipment Operator•FT•SS 3196 James Lee Boulevard East, Crestview, FL 32539 From $14 an hour•Full-time From $14 an hour•
