Job Title:
Material Handler (2nd Shift) Job Description The Material Handler supports a structural steel fabrication operation by locating, staging, and moving steel parts, components, and tools for experienced fabricators on the production floor. This role follows work orders to retrieve steel pieces from the warehouse, safely transports them to fabricators, and helps maintain an efficient workflow. It offers hands-on exposure to welding and steel fabrication and provides a strong development path for individuals interested in growing into a fabrication role. Responsibilities Unload raw steel materials and finished beams efficiently. Operate machinery as required. Engage in mild paint preparation work. Load and unload trucks using construction and heavy equipment. Essential Skills Experience with forklift operation. Proficiency in using construction and heavy equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to work effectively in a non-climate controlled environment. Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a structural steel fabrication facility that operates in a non-climate-controlled, open-bay environment. You will work on 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The facility handles large structural steel components such as beams, columns, joists, and decking, and uses equipment including band saws, grinders, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and other construction-related tools. Work takes place both inside the open bays and at times in outdoor areas, including exposure to sun and varying temperatures. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, with a strong focus on safety, organization, and teamwork while handling heavy steel materials. Unload raw steel materials and finished beams efficiently. Operate machinery as required. Engage in mild paint preparation work. Load and unload trucks using construction and heavy equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Daytona Beach, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
