The Material Handler works closely with Production to coordinate and manage the movement and storage of raw, work in process and finished parts to ensure all products are manufactured according to schedule. Ensure parts are handled and stored in a manner to prevent damage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with production to ensure all products are manufactured according to the schedule. Utilizes computer software to determine what material to move. Verifies proper paperwork and quantities are maintained throughout production process. Physically move parts on and off carts by hand. Move carts to the appropriate work centers. Use pallet jack and/or forklift to transport large parts to the appropriate work centers. Stage all work centers with upcoming jobs to ensure operators are not waiting for their next job. Load and unload materials from racks by hand and/or with forklift. Load and unload material from boxes and pallets. Assist in the wash area. Maintain cleanliness and organization of carts. Follow ALL safe work practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge in manufacturing/warehouse environment Forklift experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. Computer Skills Proficiency of English language (read, write, converse).
Language Skills:
Must speak English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to perform these operations using English and Metric units of measure, as well as converting between the two.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills Basic computer skills
