The Dockhand must work to maintain a safe and clean environment following all safety procedures and policies throughout the docking and fueling process. Candidates should possess a strong customer service orientation, maintaining professionalism and friendliness at all times. They must be able to stay organized and prioritize safety in a fast-paced setting, while also proactively identifying and completing tasks during quieter moments. Candidates need to demonstrate responsibility and trustworthiness when handling inventory and point-of-sale transactions. Effective communication skills are essential, as they consistently interact with diverse clientele, providing assistance and answering questions with clarity and patience. A basic understanding of boat handling is a must to assist customers in safely docking. Physical stamina is also important, as the role involves lifting heavy objects, maneuvering equipment, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Overall, the ideal candidate is a team player who contributes to a positive and safe environment, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide SHM members with the best experience possibleGreet all customers in a manner that expresses a kind, courteous and professional characterHelp orient members and guests to the marina, facilities, and answer other commonly asked questionsAssist customers throughout the vessel fueling and pump out process, ensuring safe practices are being followedAssist customers with general boating needsMaintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, grounds and other areas designated by managementEnsure docks and equipment are operational at all timesDaily trash collection and disposalMaintaining inventory at fuel dock, including organizing, cleaning and restocking shelves, inventory counts, etc.
