This will include unloading supply trucks, stacking and organizing skids, moving product to different departments throughout the building, wrapping/strapping pallets for transit, loading outbound shipments, and other various related tasks. Our ideal candidate will be able to move pallets weighing up to 4000lbs using pallet jacks, have proven forklift experience, tolerate being in the heat for extended periods of time while loading/unloading/preparing shipments, communicates issues or problems with materials or equipment, and is task-oriented and efficient.
Responsibilities:
  • Unloading paper trucks with the forklift or pallet jack. During our peak operations, there can be 2-3 trucks of paper to unload each day.
  • Loading trucks with the forklift. During our peak operations, there can be 10+ vehicles to load ranging from van all the way to tractor trailers.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and liftgates safely to load and unload shipments.
  • Stacking and organizing paper skids on the main press floor to utilize vertical storage space.
  • Ensuring that there are enough supplies to do your job effectively such as propane, pallet wrap, strap, crimps, and tape.
  • Moving mail pallets to the mail department from the press room. This entails wrapping the unfinished product and delivering said product to the intended mail line in the mailing department.
  • Staging mail in the parking lot depending on the mode of shipping.
  • Ensure that all departments have adequate working space. General organization includes pallet stacking, rearranging, and tidying.
  • Pulling materials for operators to prevent equipment downtime.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is highly valued.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (such as AS400) or RF scanners is a plus.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers—certification is advantageous but not required; training will be provided.
  • Mechanical knowledge or experience with manufacturing or construction environments is beneficial for understanding equipment operation.
  • Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform heavy lifting regularly and stand for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to materials handling and equipment operation.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory management tasks like stocking and order fulfillment.
  • Effective communication skills to work seamlessly within a team environment.
