GENERAL LABORER
/ Non Driving Heavy Equipment Tech 12 Week -Temporary Assignment - Orange County Public Schools (OCPS)
POSITION SUMMARY
Aligned Government Services (AGS) is seeking dependable and hardworking General Laborers to support Orange County Public Schools (OCPS). This position performs a variety of manual labor tasks assisting maintenance, grounds, and infrastructure teams with projects throughout the school district. The General Laborer works as part of a team and is responsible for loading and unloading materials, assisting with site preparation, trench digging, equipment movement, and supporting various facilities improvement projects. This is a physically active position requiring the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Load, unload, and transport pallets, materials, supplies, and equipment. Assist crews with digging trenches for irrigation systems, drainage systems, utility lines, and other facilities projects. Perform site preparation and cleanup activities. Move, organize, and distribute tools, materials, and equipment at project locations. Assist with installation, repair, and maintenance projects under the direction of supervisors and skilled trades personnel. Remove debris, trash, vegetation, and other materials from work sites. Operate hand tools, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and other basic equipment. Assist with loading and unloading trucks and deliveries. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow all safety procedures, policies, and worksite requirements. Perform other labor-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED preferred. / Must be 18 years of age Previous construction, landscaping, warehouse, maintenance, or general labor experience preferred but not required. Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required. Must be able to pass a Level II background screening .
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM Three-day weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off)
COMPENSATION
$17.80- 18.50 per hour (starting) This contractor and subcontractor shall abide by the requirements of 41 CFR 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
