Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Material Handler to join our warehouse team. This role involves managing the movement, storage, and organization of materials, ensuring efficient and accurate inventory handling. While our facility is not yet operating on an ERP system, this position will play a critical role in preparing for its implementation. The ideal candidate will possess strong math, reading, and comprehension skills, along with proficiency in using technology and interpreting complex documentation.
Responsibilities Material Handling:
Safely load, unload, move, and organize materials using manual and powered equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
Inventory Management:
Perform detailed counts, labeling, and stock checks to maintain accurate records.
Order Fulfillment:
Pick, pack, and prepare materials for shipment based on work orders and customer requirements, including kitting Bill of Materials (BOMs) for accurate kit assembly.
Documentation:
Accurately complete paperwork for material transfers, shipments, and inventory updates.
Process Improvement:
Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements as we work towards ERP system adoption.
Safety Compliance:
Follow safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a clean, hazard-free warehouse environment.
Communication:
Liaise with other departments to ensure timely material delivery and resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills:
Proficient in math for inventory calculations and weight measurements. Strong reading and comprehension skills for interpreting documentation and work orders. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail). Familiarity with ERP systems and the ability to learn and adapt to new software tools. Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience:
Prior warehouse or material handling experience is preferred. Experience with basic inventory systems and kitting processes is a plus. Preference given to candidates with the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand, walk, or bend for extended periods. Comfortable working in varying warehouse conditions, including hot or cold environments.
