ReStore Warehouse Specialist Gwinnett/Walton Habitat for Humanity ReStore Lawrenceville, GA Full-Time About Us The Gwinnett/Walton Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that supports Habitat's mission of building homes, communities, and hope. Every sale, donation, and customer interaction helps fund affordable housing work right here in Gwinnett and Walton counties. We are looking for a full-time ReStore Warehouse Specialist to support donation processing, product movement, warehouse organization, customer loadouts, and safe inventory flow throughout the store. Position Summary The ReStore Warehouse Specialist is a hands-on, physically active role responsible for safely receiving, unloading, moving, processing, organizing, and preparing donated and purchased inventory for the sales floor. This position helps ensure that product moves efficiently from donation intake to warehouse processing to the sales floor or customer vehicle. This role works primarily in the ReStore warehouse and donation processing areas, but also supports the sales floor, donation center, customer loadouts, and donation truck team as needed. The Warehouse Specialist has regular contact with donors, customers, volunteers, and staff and serves as a front-line ambassador for Habitat for Humanity. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, physically capable, organized, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. Key Responsibilities Provide friendly, professional, and helpful service to donors, customers, volunteers, and staff. Serve as a mission ambassador by representing Habitat for Humanity positively during donation drop-offs, customer loadouts, sales floor interactions, and volunteer engagement. Receive, unload, move, sort, and process donated and purchased inventory. Assist with unloading ReStore trucks, donor vehicles, and vendor deliveries. Assist with customer loadouts, including furniture, appliances, tile, flooring, cabinets, building materials, and other merchandise. Prepare items for the sales floor by cleaning, organizing, assembling, grouping, tagging, or staging products as directed. Help move merchandise safely onto, throughout, and off the sales floor as needed. Use carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, dollies, and approved warehouse equipment safely. Support safe movement and storage of furniture, appliances, flooring, tile, building materials, and other heavy or bulky items. Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient warehouse and processing area. Walk the warehouse, donation areas, and sales floor regularly to understand current inventory levels, space needs, and daily priorities. Check the daily workboard and complete assigned tasks in order of priority. Support inventory accuracy by using the POS/inventory system for donation logistics, product entry, item lookups, and inventory updates as needed. Assist with pricing, tagging, product preparation, and sales floor replenishment as directed. Help guide volunteers serving in warehouse, donation processing, product movement, customer loadouts, and related tasks. Provide clear, respectful task direction to volunteers and help ensure they understand safe work practices. Support a positive volunteer experience by being welcoming, patient, mission-focused, and appreciative. Communicate product issues, safety concerns, space constraints, donation concerns, and inventory opportunities to management. Fill in as a donation truck assistant when needed. Assist with donation pickups or truck routes as needed, including riding on or helping with 16-foot and 26-foot box trucks. Follow all safe lifting, equipment use, warehouse, donation, and driving-related procedures. Pitch in across departments as needed to support overall ReStore operations. Follow all company and store policies and procedures. Support the ReStore in reaching sales, service, safety, donation, volunteer, and mission goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Previous warehouse, retail warehouse, donation processing, moving, logistics, receiving, retail, thrift, home improvement, or related experience. Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with donors, customers, volunteers, and staff. Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the day. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced warehouse and retail environment. Ability to follow directions, complete assigned tasks, and shift priorities as needed. Strong organizational skills and attention to safety, cleanliness, and product flow. Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, volunteers, donors, and customers. Comfort using or learning POS/inventory systems for donation logistics, inventory input, item lookups, and inventory updates. Comfort giving clear, respectful task direction to volunteers. Ability to lead by example without formal supervisory authority. Dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Preferred Qualifications Forklift certification or willingness to be trained. Experience using pallet jacks, hand trucks, dollies, carts, or similar equipment. Experience handling furniture, appliances, tile, flooring, cabinets, building materials, or donated goods. Experience with donation intake, receiving, inventory systems, or product staging. Experience working with volunteers. Ability to safely drive or assist with commercial box trucks. Experience with 16-foot or 26-foot box trucks. Bilingual skills. Physical Requirements This is a very physically active position. This role requires the ability to: Stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day. Bend, reach, climb steps, push, pull, twist, squat, and move throughout warehouse, donation, sales floor, and outdoor areas. Lift, carry, push, pull, and move boxes, chairs, furniture, appliances, tile, flooring, cabinets, building materials, and other donated merchandise. Assist with unloading trucks and donor vehicles. Assist with loading merchandise into customer vehicles. Work with team assistance for heavy, oversized, or awkward items. Use carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, dollies, and approved warehouse equipment safely. Work both indoors and outdoors. Work in changing weather conditions when assisting with donations, loadouts, truck unloading, or product movement. Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
