Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
This position manages the daily operation of the school district's warehouse facility. Receives, stores, distributes, and retrieves textbooks, instructional materials, supplies, furniture, equipment, and other materials used throughout the school system in conjunction with the supervisor.

This job has supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prioritizes and assigns work orders to staff; supervises, trains, and directs all warehouse personnel when the supervisor is unable to. Regulates the requisition and distribution of furniture, supplies and equipment. Maintains working environment and storage; practices and assures safety regulations, follows procedures and routines. Prepares auctions on surplus equipment as required or determined by the purchasing supervisor. Oversees the physical inventory daily; performs an annual audit on all warehouse inventory to reconcile each inventory line item. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or State Approved High School Equivalency; Associate's degree preferred. Five (5) years of warehouse experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of and skill to operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment as needed. Good organizational skills. Excellent records maintenance, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to plan, train, and supervise the work of others. Ability to manage warehousing projects. Ability to operate a personal computer. Ability to perform manual work including lifting and moving objects. Ability to develop and maintain records and files. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work independently without close supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, vendors, school officials, and the public. Ability to enter and retrieve data from a computer. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Current and Valid Ga Drivers License.
Salary/Terms/Benefits:
239 day work year; 8 hours per day
Salary:
Grade 111J - Placement on salary schedule based on years of experience. Up to ten (10) years allowed. The stated salary range reflects the opportunity for pay over the course of the employee's tenure. The top pay is not a potential starting salary.
