PORT WENTWORTH, GA STARTING PAY
$19.00 PER
HOUR SHIFT
1st (7AM - 3:30PM), MONDAY-FRIDAY The Wood Cutter (General Laborer) perform a variety of production and material handling tasks to support warehouse operations and custom crating requirements. This position is responsible for accurately measuring, cutting, assembling, and preparing wood materials used for product packaging, crating, and shipping while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Measure, mark, and cut lumber and wood materials according to specifications Operate saws, nail guns, drills, and other woodworking equipment safely and efficiently Assemble wooden crates, pallets, and custom packaging solutions Inspect wood materials for defects and quality concerns Load, unload, and organize lumber and finished products within the work area Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of woodworking equipment and workstations Follow production schedules and work instructions to meet daily production goals Maintain accurate measurements and ensure quality standards are met Assist with pallet repair and construction as required Support general warehouse housekeeping activities and maintain a clean work environment Adhere to all company safety policies and PPE requirements Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 6 months of manufacturing, construction, woodworking, carpentry, or related experience preferred Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and levels preferred Ability to safely operate power tools and woodworking equipment Strong attention to detail and accuracy when measuring and cutting materials Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specifications Ability to work independently and as part of a team Demonstrated accountability for quality, accuracy, and productivity Ability to work overtime as required Good communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment Basic math skills required for measuring and calculating material dimensions
WORKING CONDITIONS
Fluctuating temperatures due to seasonal weather conditions Noise associated with saws, nail guns, power tools, and forklift traffic Wood dust and other manufacturing-related materials PPE safety equipment must be worn and safety precautions exercised at all times Position requires sustained visual attention, manual dexterity, and the safe operation of power equipment Work requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs regularly Work requires frequent bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials Position requires repetitive use of hands and arms throughout the workday
