Job Description Compensation:
$18.00 an hour - paid weekly
Shift Available:
Nights 7:50pm to 8am 2-2-3 schedule
Job Overview:
The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient flow of materials and supplies required for blown film production. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to handle delicate materials, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
Safely and efficiently loading and unloading raw materials, such as plastic resins, additives, and colorants, into appropriate storage areas or production equipment Inspecting incoming materials for quality, verifying quantities, and reporting any discrepancies or damage Storing raw materials, supplies, and finished products in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring proper organization and efficient use of space Retrieving and delivering materials, supplies, and finished products to the appropriate production areas or workstations in a timely manner Assisting in the setup and preparation of materials and supplies for blown film production, following production orders or instructions Monitoring inventory levels and reporting shortages or excesses to the appropriate personnel. Operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures Maintain inventory of gaylord boxes and dumps in box filter Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Assisting in the maintenance and cleanliness of material handling equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damage to supervisors Collaborating effectively with supervisors, machine operators, and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient material flow and resolve any material-related issues or concerns. Keep the work area clean and organized, including proper disposal of packaging materials Other essential duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Experience as a Material Handler, preferably in manufacturing or a similar environment, is preferred Forklift certified and experience operating other material handling equipment Understanding of blown film production processes and the materials involved, including plastic resins, additives, and colorants Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks Attention to detail and the ability to accurately count, measure, and inspect materials and supplies Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and calculating quantities Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders Basic computer literacy for data entry, reporting, and inventory management Company Benefits What You'll Get From Us Benefits With safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
