Job Description
We continually strive to end hunger here in Hawaii and are looking to add another member to our warehouse staff. We are looking for someone with a passion for helping people and the drive to help us meet our goals. This position involves both working in a warehouse environment in Hilo as well as working on site at distributions around the island and operating large vehicles for pick-ups and deliveries. A person in this position must be reliable, detail-oriented and demonstrate strong organizational skills, self-motivation, creative problem solving, and effective communication skills. Teamwork is essential! Inventory in the warehouse is constantly moving and changing; therefore this position requires someone who is flexible, open to learning new things, able to work well with fellow employees, work independently as well as under supervision and possess the physical ability to work alongside of warehouse staff. Operate Forklift, electronic and manual pallet jack safely Operate mid-sized trucks to transport goods (sometimes long distance) Set up packing line for distributions Pack boxes for distributions Working with and supervising volunteers Receive products into warehouse Palletize products coming in or going out of warehouse Receive in USDA product using proper procedures Take recycling to transfer station when needed Perform daily and monthly safety inspections for vehicles and warehouse Perform minor vehicle and equipment maintenance Complete necessary paperwork corresponding daily work activities Other duties as assigned by supervisor High school diploma or equivalent One year experience in warehouse, deliveries or a related field preferred Valid Hawaii State driver's license (Class 3) Valid State of Hawaii Forklift certification (may be obtained within 1 month of hire date) Reliable transportation to and from work Clean driver's abstract Be able to lift up to 80lb Be able to perform repetitive tasks Be able to communicate effectively and work with co-workers and supervisors Be able to follow directions Compensation commensurate with experience.
