JOB DESCRIPTION
The Support Services Staff works directly under the Support Service Manager to accomplish daily deliveries, tool & equipment management, building & grounds maintenance, and other tasks as given to support the operations of Northwest Mechanical business units Construction, Service and Controls.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The primary objective of the Support Services Staff is to complete all daily tasks set by the Support Services Manager safely and on time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Support Services Staff shall:
  • Perform Deliveries Hold and maintain a current driver's license Hold and maintain a CDL Class B license Abide by all state regulations when operating company vehicles Follow the Northwest Mechanical fleet policy when operating a motor vehicle Keep vehicles clean and maintained as per scheduling
  • Tool Inventory and Management Staff should have knowledge of what tools are and basic idea of use Visually check tools for defects and tag if damaged Clean and inventory tools when returned for next usage request Notify manager when handing out tools Record tool ID # when checking out or receiving tools
  • Building and Grounds Responsibilities Off load incoming freight and deliveries Assist in snow and ice removal Pick up trash and items around building that need disposed of Empty trash cans as needed and have dumpster ready for trash pickup Take recycle items to disposal site Maintain a clean and safe environment at office location
  • Communication Answer the requests of support services manager and keep in communication as the day progresses, acknowledging any delays or setbacks and to ask questions when not clear on request given. Staff must not take and perform requests from anyone other than Support Services Manager without clearing with Manager first.
  • Safety Operate equipment and vehicles in a safe manner Secure and inspect loads before departure Wear proper PPE when making deliveries to job sites as per site regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be safe, dependable, and hard working. The individual must be knowledgeable in the areas of tools, equipment, shipping and be able to manage multiple tasks at any given time.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid and current driver's license
  • Valid and current CDL Class B License
  • Must pass point of hire and annual DOT driver's license check
  • Must pass point of hire drug test and abide by company drug testing program
  • Must speak English fluently
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing job duties the employee will need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds, perform physical labor, to be physically able to operate company vehicles with a valid driver's license, to be able to see and hear, and have the comprehension of needs and limitations to provide a safe and supportive environment.
