Material Handler (1st & 2nd Shift) $16 1st and 2nd shift
Location:
Davenport, IA Job Summary We are seeking a dependable Material Handler to join our team at a large distribution center in Davenport, Iowa. This contract-to-hire opportunity focuses on accurate picking, packing, and movement of parts, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and attention to detail rather than production speed. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in precision and wants to grow within a stable warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities Sort boxes and stage them on designated pallets for forklift operators Pick and pack products ranging from small items to large machine parts Safely operate lifting equipment to move and position materials Use RF scanners to locate, pick, and verify inventory accurately Load and unload semi-trailers and freight shipments Follow detailed work instructions to ensure order accuracy and prevent errors Assist with order preparation, packaging, and shipment staging Maintain organized inventory handling and support daily warehouse operations Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized Follow all warehouse safety procedures and equipment guidelines Work mandatory overtime , including extended shifts and occasional Saturdays Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented, diverse work environment Required Qualifications 3-6 months of warehouse or distribution experience Experience with picking and packing in a warehouse setting Ability to learn and effectively use RF scanning equipment Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules as needed Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work well in a team-based environment Preferred Qualifications Forklift experience ( training and certification available ) Experience loading and unloading trucks or semi-trailers Experience in general labor or distribution environments Familiarity with inventory control and order-picking processes Why Join Us? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
