Job Description

Seeking a dependable general laborer to support production in a busy metal fabrication and powder coating shop. The role assists with material handling, basic fabrication prep, powder coating operations support, finishing, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace. Key Responsibilities Load, unload, move, and stage raw materials and finished parts (sheet metal, racks, hardware) using hand tools and manual lifting; operate pallet jack and assist with forklifts as trained.
Prepare parts for processing:
degreasing, masking, sanding, media blasting prep, washing, and racking for powder coating.
Assist powder coating process:
hang/unhang parts on racks, monitor cure times, visually inspect coatings for defects, perform touch-ups or flag for rework.
Assist basic sheet metal tasks:
deburring, grinding, filing, bending assistance, clamp/unclamp fixtures, and assembly. Operate/clean shop equipment and tools per instructions (sanders, grinders, blast cabinet, ovens) following safety protocols. Perform quality checks (dimensions, fit, surface finish) and report defects to supervisor.
Maintain shop cleanliness:
sweep, remove waste, properly store materials, and dispose of coatings and solvents per hazardous-waste rules. Help load/unload customer deliveries and prepare shipments; pack and label finished goods. Support other production tasks and cross-train as needed. Related work experience is preferred but not required.
