Job DescriptionJob SummaryLoads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the plant, yard or work site by performing the following duties.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesReads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand.
Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Deal with customers directly when loading customer pick up.
Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales or other containers.
Loads truck for over the road drivers.
Stacks/stages materials on the line and in trailers.
Lifts heavy objects by hand and cleans work area, machines and equipment to assist machine operators.
Operate industrial fork truck to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Participates and contributes to a Work Team environment and follows Quality Control checks.
Follows all Safety Rules and contributes to a safe work environment.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to read measurement tools.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Physical DemandsAbility to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials up to or exceeding 50 lbs.
