Seasonal Production & Fire-Retardant Loader Location:

Full-Time Seasonal Position (Now through August-October, depending on fire season demand) Job Overview Gem State Staffing in Pocatello is seeking motivated individuals for a Seasonal Production & Fire Retardant Loader position supporting wildfire suppression efforts. This hands-on role is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, agriculture, mechanics, heavy equipment operation, warehouse operations, or general labor . This position plays a critical role in producing, handling, loading, and maintaining fire retardant materials and equipment used during wildfire season. The season is expected to continue through August, with potential extension into October based on operational needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and mix fire retardant products according to operational procedures
  • Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Operate forklifts, loaders, tractors, and other equipment as needed
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime
  • Monitor conveyor systems, pumps, motors, and production equipment
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Assist with facility maintenance and repair projects
  • Follow all safety regulations and company procedures Preferred Qualifications While not required, candidates with experience in any of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:
  • Industrial maintenance experience
  • Conveyor systems, augers, grain elevators, or agricultural equipment
  • Welding certifications or welding experience
  • Carpentry and construction experience
  • Plumbing or general maintenance experience
  • Automotive mechanic experience
  • Diesel mechanic experience
  • Heavy equipment maintenance
  • Pump maintenance and repair
  • Electric motor maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Forklift operation
  • Loader operation
  • Tractor operation
  • Manlift operation
  • Manufacturing or production experience
  • Agricultural operations experience
  • Warehouse and material handling experience Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50+ pounds
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the shift
