SAVE CDS
Program, a nonprofit organization that has been dedicated to providing quality person-centered services with a focus on personal and vocational development to individuals with developmental and other types of disabilities in our Community Day Services Program located in the St. Clair County area for over 50 years. Join our amazing team in providing top quality support and services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Material Handler/Maintenance Worker to join our team. This position is primarily responsible for the movement, organization, and tracking of materials within our facility. In addition to material handling duties, this role will support general facility maintenance including lawn care, snow removal, and minor repairs as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Transport materials to designated areas using forklifts, hand trucks, or other material-handling equipment. Maintain accurate inventory records of incoming and outgoing materials. Inspect and verify deliveries against packing slips, invoices, or manifests. Organize and maintain stockroom and storage areas for accessibility, cleanliness, and efficiency. Assist with the loading and unloading of deliveries, including securing and staging materials. Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with general maintenance tasks, such as: Lawn care: mowing, trimming, weeding, and seasonal upkeep Snow removal: shoveling walkways, salting, and using snow blowers as needed Minor maintenance and repair tasks, including cleaning, painting, or basic equipment upkeep
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in material handling, maintenance, or a related field preferred. Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (certification a plus). Basic mechanical and maintenance skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and organization. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor throughout the shift. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Work Environment:
This position involves both indoor and outdoor work, including exposure to weather elements. Safety equipment will be provided. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's Linces and Insurance Previous experience in material handling, maintenance, or a related field preferred. Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (certification a plus). Basic mechanical and maintenance skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and organization. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor throughout the shift. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
