Warehouse Worker 1st 7:30am-4pm Job Description The Warehouse Worker operates sit-down and stand-up forklifts to safely move materials, support production lines, and handle all aspects of shipping and receiving. This role involves loading and unloading trucks, using RF scanners to track inventory, picking orders, and preparing shipments to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. The position requires strong attention to detail, basic math and measurement skills, and the ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English. Responsibilities Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move materials safely throughout the warehouse and production areas. Load and unload trucks using a sit-down forklift, ensuring products are handled carefully and efficiently. Verify incoming shipments by matching items received to expected deliveries, checking for accuracy and quality, and signing required documentation. Scan incoming materials into inventory using an RF scanner and place them in appropriate warehouse shelving locations. Supply production areas by pulling materials from the warehouse and delivering them to lamination and slitting machines to keep production running smoothly. Apply barcodes to finished rolls produced by lamination and place them on shelving using a forklift. Perform regular inventory counts to track on-hand materials and support accurate inventory records. Pick customer orders accurately using RF scanners and order documentation. Prepare orders for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and staging for carriers such as UPS and FedEx when required. Create and read shipping labels and documentation to ensure correct routing and delivery. Put away used or returned materials in designated warehouse locations. Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of all warehouse areas to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Use basic math and measurement tools, including a ruler, to confirm correct quantities and dimensions of materials. Handle pallets and materials using pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as needed. Support overall warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory, and general labor tasks as required. Essential Skills 1-2 years of warehouse experience, including order picking and loading and unloading trucks. Forklift experience operating sit-down or stand-up forklifts, with a preference for 2 years of sit-down forklift experience. Proficiency using RF scanners for inventory, order picking, and shipping and receiving tasks. Experience in shipping and receiving processes, including verifying shipments and preparing outgoing orders. Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities. Ability to read and use a ruler to measure materials accurately. Experience with general warehouse duties such as material handling, pallet jack operation, and heavy lifting. Capability to perform warehouse inventory activities and maintain accurate records. Willingness and ability to pass a basic reading and ruler test as part of the screening process. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Crystal Lake, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
