Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and handling of materials within our facility. Your expertise in warehouse distribution, heavy equipment operation, and materials handling will ensure smooth shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to safety standards such as OSHA regulations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team focused on operational excellence and timely delivery. 1st shift Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm Duties and Responsibilities Fill material requests for the production floor and shipping dept. Handle incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring that products are packed securely and labeled correctly for dispatch. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move items safely and efficiently. Inspect and verify incoming goods, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Consolidate parts to achieve FIFO and additional storage space. Verify inventory levels, conduct regular checks, and maintain accurate records of material quantities and locations. Perform cycle counts as needed/directed by supervisor. Work closely with warehouse supervisors and team members to ensure timely order fulfillment and efficient material flow. Other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related roles within a warehouse or construction environment. Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts (Sit-down and stand-up style forklifts, and experience with at least one or the other is required , both is a plus) cranes, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks safely. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and inventory control procedures. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during shifts. Previous experience in warehouse supervisor roles or managing order picker operations is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and inventory management. This position is integral to maintaining efficient warehouse operations while prioritizing safety and accuracy.
