Entry Level General Laborer Job Description The General Laborer supports multiple areas within a manufacturing shop, performing a variety of hands-on tasks to keep operations running smoothly. This role requires consistent attendance, flexibility to work wherever needed on the floor, and the physical ability to handle heavy lifting and extended periods on your feet. Responsibilities Work in multiple areas of the manufacturing shop as assigned to support daily production needs. Perform general production tasks such as assembly, packaging, labeling, and loading. Use a tape measure accurately to complete measurements as required for production activities. Read and interpret blueprints to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards. Handle heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the shift. Operate sit-down forklifts and perform forklift operating tasks when needed, following safety procedures. Pick and stage materials and products using RF scanners and other warehouse tools. Support shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading materials and finished goods. Assist with warehouse inventory tasks, including counting, organizing, and tracking materials. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with manufacturing and safety guidelines. Follow all production, quality, and safety procedures while working in any assigned area. Demonstrate reliability by showing up to work consistently and being prepared to work in any requested area. Essential Skills Ability to work on your feet for 10 or more hours per shift. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds consistently throughout the workday. Proficiency in using a tape measure accurately for production tasks. Ability to read and interpret blueprints with previous experience working from blueprints. Willingness to work in any area of the shop as requested and adapt to changing daily needs. Strong reliability and commitment to consistent attendance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating sit-down forklifts in a production or warehouse environment. Experience with general production work in a manufacturing or warehouse setting. Experience in picking, packaging, and loading materials and finished products. Experience using RF scanners for picking, inventory, or shipping tasks. Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes and documentation. Experience with warehouse inventory activities such as counting and organizing stock. Hands-on experience with assembly and labeling tasks in a production environment. Why Work Here? The environment is active and fast-paced, with tasks that may include assembly, packaging, labeling, shipping and receiving, and inventory work in various areas of the shop. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eureka, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
