We're hiring a General Laborer/Yard Team Member to join County Prestress and Precast in Lockport, IL.
Job Summary:
The General Laborer/Yard Team Member role supports daily precast concrete production operations by performing general labor, material preparation, mold setup, and equipment maintenance. This position plays a key role in maintaining efficient production flow by following established manufacturing procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements. This role is ideal for a hands-on, entry-level team member who thrives in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment and is committed to safety, teamwork, and achieving daily production goals. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform daily tasks related to precast concrete production and general labor support Set up, assemble, clean, and maintain steel pallets, forms, and molds Prepare forms for concrete pouring, including cutting, bending, and placing rebar and welded wire mesh Operate, maintain, and inspect production equipment, tools, and machinery Clean and maintain work areas, equipment, and facility grounds Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials Support team members in achieving daily production targets and operational goals Follow all workplace safety regulations, OSHA standards, and quality procedures Maintain proper housekeeping standards for a clean and organized plant environment Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and supervisor instructions Assist with special projects, production changes, or additional tasks as needed Perform other duties as assigned COUNTY Core Competencies:

Required:
Must be at least 18 years old Ability to perform physical labor in a manufacturing or construction environment Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented setting Safety-focused mindset Preferred:
0-2 years of experience in precast concrete, construction, manufacturing, or industrial labor Familiarity with construction materials, rebar, or concrete processes Ability to exercise sound judgment in equipment operation and material handling Willingness to learn and be trained on plant processes and machinery Flexible and adaptable to team and production needs Work Environment:
Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards Work in a noisy environment Physical & Work Expectations:
