This position bridges our back-of-house operations with our customer-facing services. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining organized and efficient warehouse operations while also traveling to customers' homes to conduct accurate, professional flooring measurements and estimates. Summary of Responsibilities Working under the supervision of the Sales Manager, this role divides time between facility management and field services. Primary duties include loading and unloading vehicles, processing and staging warehouse materials, and acting as a brand ambassador while completing in-home flooring estimates. The individual must regularly demonstrate and practically apply an understanding of the key financial drivers of the Carpet One business to help maximize its long-term performance.

Core Duties Field Estimating & Customer Service Conduct In-Home Estimates:

Travel to customers' homes to accurately measure spaces, assess subfloors, and determine flooring material requirements.

Customer Interaction:

Represent Carpet One professionally while in the field, answering basic customer questions and providing excellent service.

Complete Deliveries:

Safely transport required materials or products to job sites and customer locations as needed.

Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management Shipping & Receiving:

Receive incoming shipments, verify accuracy by cross-referencing materials against pick lists and order sheets, and ensure delivery quality.

Material Staging:

Prepare materials for installation crews by accurately cutting, measuring, and staging each job's required materials.

Loading & Unloading:

Assist in safely loading trucks for installers and unloading inbound freight, ensuring the correct merchandise is prepared for each specific job.

Inventory Control:

Use the store's inventory management system to continuously track, update, and maintain materials in the warehouse. Proactively maintain inventory supply levels based on the needs of the store(s).

Facility Maintenance:

Maintain order, safety, and cleanliness in the warehouse and at the loading dock at all times.

Showroom & Administrative Support Showroom Maintenance:

Maintain displays, sample placements, and general cleanliness in the retail showroom.

Documentation:

Hold administrative responsibilities including the accurate completion, filing, and processing of required paperwork, purchase orders, and inventory sheets. Expectations and Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty at a satisfactory level.

Experience:

Must have prior experience working in a warehouse environment and possess a working knowledge of standard warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and inventory management.

Measurement & Math Skills:

Must possess the basic math and spatial skills required to calculate square footage and draft accurate flooring estimates.

Mobility & Travel:

Must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation to travel to customer homes for estimates.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy flooring materials, operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks), and stand or bend for extended periods.

Product Knowledge:

Expected to learn and consistently demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of Carpet One's business model, store standards, and flooring products.

Pay:

$17.00 - $25.00 per hour
