Lead Warehouse Loader Job Description The Lead Warehouse Loader oversees day-to-day warehouse loading operations, ensuring products are accurately picked, safely handled, and efficiently loaded onto trucks for on-time delivery. This role works closely with warehouse staff, provides direction on daily tasks, operates a forklift, and serves as the point person on the floor for coordinating receiving, storage, and shipping activities. The Lead Warehouse Loader also helps maintain a safe, organized, and productive environment while performing physically demanding, hands-on warehouse work. Previous leadership experience in warehouse operations (at least 2-3 years in a warehouse lead or warehouse supervisory role). Monday - Friday work schedule, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. or until completion of shift, with occasional 10-12 hour shifts depending on work load. Interested and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Work with warehouse staff each day to ensure all tasks are completed accurately, safely, and on time. Coordinate the receiving, storage, and shipping of goods, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and storage practices are followed. Load next-day shipments onto delivery trucks, verifying that all material loaded for delivery matches customer orders and will arrive in perfect condition. Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload products throughout the warehouse and at the docks. Enforce and follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment, including attending safety meetings. Assist in training new employees on warehouse procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation, including forklift use. Collaborate with management to develop and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy in warehouse operations. Resolve operational issues or discrepancies that arise during daily activities, including order, inventory, or loading problems. Oversee basic equipment maintenance and ensure warehouse machinery and forklifts function properly, reporting issues as needed. Monitor and track productivity metrics to help the team meet performance goals and objectives. Lead by example on the warehouse floor, providing direction to workers who look to you daily for what needs to be done. Lock up the facility at the end of the shift, ensuring the building, equipment, and inventory are secure. Perform traditional warehouse duties, including shipping and receiving, loading and unloading trucks, and inventory control. Lift heavy and sometimes awkward products, often in the 50-100 pound range with a helper, repeatedly to store and load onto trucks. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Previous leadership experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2-3 years in a warehouse lead or warehouse supervisory role. Proven forklift operator experience and current forklift certification. Experience with shipping and receiving, loading and unloading trucks, and inventory control. Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and related software. Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team on the warehouse floor. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform frequent, strenuous physical activity, including lifting 50-100 pounds with assistance. Ability to work independently as a self-starter without constant supervision. Solid organizational and interpersonal skills to coordinate activities and interact effectively with coworkers and management. Additional Skills & Qualifications Additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management. Experience with training development and onboarding of new warehouse employees. Familiarity with warehouse management systems beyond basic use, including reporting and productivity tracking. Experience overseeing basic maintenance of warehouse equipment and machinery. Comfort working in a competitive, performance-driven environment where results and initiative are recognized. Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in warehouse operations. Why Work Here? You will join a growing organization that offers a clear path for advancement, with pay increases tied to your knowledge of multiple departments and your ability to expand your skill set. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, 401(k) with matching, paid holidays, and paid time off, including PTO eligibility in less than a year and a floating holiday. The culture emphasizes fairness, a commitment to excellence, and a performance-based environment where motivated, competitive individuals can thrive and be rewarded for their contributions. You will work in a team-oriented setting where each person is encouraged to achieve their personal best and where hard work, reliability, and initiative are recognized and valued. Work Environment This role is based in a clean and well lit large warehouse facility. The building is heated in the winter but is not fully temperature-controlled, and much of the work takes place near the docks, so you should be comfortable working in changing outdoor elements and warmer conditions during the summer. The facility is busy and can be complex to navigate, with a full warehouse layout that requires good spatial awareness and attention to detail.
