Job Description

Warehouse & Mechanical Shop Technician (Industrial Compressors)
Location:
Schaumburg, IL — Adicomp (1179 Tower Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60173)
Schedule:
1st Shift, Monday-Friday (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
Compensation:
$20-$25 per hour, based on experience | Full-time, hourly A day in this role At 8:00 a.m., you'll start by checking the day's order queue and staging parts for customer shipments. Through the morning, you'll receive inbound materials, verify paperwork, and keep inventory tight with careful labeling and cycle counts. After lunch, you'll move into the shop to assist with hands-on work—disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling compressor gas ends under the guidance of senior technicians. By day's end, you've kept the warehouse safe and organized, prepped equipment for field deployment, and learned another step in a full overhaul process. What you'll handle Pick, pack, and prepare customer equipment and parts for shipment. Receive incoming goods; confirm materials and documentation are accurate. Maintain inventory integrity via organized stocking, labeling, and cycle counts. Keep aisles, racks, and work areas clean, orderly, and safe. Support restocking, material staging, and timely order fulfillment. Apply mechanical aptitude in the shop to assist with maintenance, disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of compressor gas ends and related components (training provided). Learn and execute gas end overhauls under supervision. Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively. Assist senior technicians with rebuilds and equipment preparation. Stage, assemble, and prepare equipment for field deployment. Must-haves High School Diploma or equivalent. 1+ year in a warehouse or fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs routinely. Comfort standing, bending, and moving around shop/industrial equipment. Great-to-haves Experience in warehouse, shop, or mechanical maintenance settings. Forklift experience/certification (or willingness to be trained). Exposure to compressors, engines, or mechanical repair. Technical diploma or trade certification in mechanical/industrial/maintenance fields. Work setting On-site at our Schaumburg, IL facility; no travel required.
