Printpack Bloomington is looking for a candidate to fill a Material Handler position on a Monday-Thursday day shift (7AM-7PM). An ideal applicant is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. - Paid Parental Leave The Material Handler ensures the safe, efficient, timely, and accurate movement of materials and product throughout the plant to support production and plant operations.
This position will work a night shift (7AM-7PM Mon-Thur) for a total of 48 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Have a general understanding of rack numbering systems, tags, raw materials, and WIP Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts to move materials Operate stretch wrap machine and banding equipment Perform routine safety inspections of lift equipment Supply department with materials in a timely fashion such that machine downtime is avoided Perform daily housekeeping chores such as sweeping and 5S activities as time permits Document inventory locations using handheld electronic devices
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older Stable work history
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong time management skills and ability to follow instructions 1-3 years experience of material handling and use of forklifts (stand-up & sit-down), pallet jacks, powered pallet jacks, or related equipment is preferred
Physical Demands:
Lifting up to 50 pounds Must be able to climb, kneel, bend, squat Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Ability to wear PPE including but not limited to hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses
