Job Title:
Material Handler Forklift Operator Job Description Join our dynamic warehouse team where you will perform a variety of tasks in a small warehouse environment. Your role will include picking orders using a cherry picker, material handling with pallet jacks, and engaging in packing, labeling, shipping, and receiving activities. Responsibilities Assemble and fill orders for shipment to customers or other divisions. Load and unload common carrier and company vehicles. Assemble customer orders for UPS/LTL shipping. Process paperwork for shipments, ensuring merchandise accuracy, applying correct postage, and completing BOL information for LTL shipments. Follow customer shipping instructions and insure shipments as necessary. Gather, verify, and document quantities and descriptions of assembled orders. Pack orders into containers and organize them on shelves according to truck routes. Verify quantities and items against invoices. Substitute for other warehouse personnel as needed. Utilize a scanner for warehouse management, order picking, and general material put-away. Essential Skills Ability to meet deadlines. Excellent attendance record. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Ability to stand for the entire shift. Capability to lift 50-75 lbs multiple times per shift. Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with stand-up reach truck or cherry picker (preferred). Forklift operation and RF scanner experience. Proficiency in loading, unloading, shipping, receiving, and order picking. Steel-toed shoes are required. Knowledge of forklift or electrical products is beneficial but not required. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a small warehouse operation that is not temperature controlled, but large fans are available to keep the space cool. The standard shift is Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5:30 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
