Job Description:
The Facilities Technician plays a critical role in keeping production and facility operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, building systems, and support tools in a fast-paced environment. This role supports preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities, responds to equipment issues, and partners with operations to minimize downtime and improve overall equipment performance. The Facilities Technician also helps maintain a safe, compliant, and organized workplace while supporting projects, shutdowns, and continuous improvement initiatives.Work Schedule :
M-F 7:00AM -3:30PM, weekends as neededJob Type:
Full-time Key Responsibilities- Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of production equipment and facility systems to support safe, efficient operations.
- Complete preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks on machinery, tools, and building equipment.
- Respond promptly to unplanned downtime, equipment failures, and facility issues to minimize operational disruption.
- Inspect, test, adjust, and replace components as needed, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Prepare and set up equipment for scheduled production runs and support changeovers when needed.
- Maintain the facility through general repairs, including basic plumbing, carpentry, and other building maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, and maintenance procedures to complete assigned work accurately.
- Support planned shutdowns, emergency repairs, capital projects, and other maintenance initiatives.
- Partner with operations, quality, and compliance teams to support product quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and standard operating procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance reliability and workplace safety.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Tools and Equipment
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic instruments, meters, and material handling equipment to perform assigned duties.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and other approved maintenance or warehouse support equipment as required.
- Use computers or mobile devices to review work orders, document maintenance activity, and communicate updates.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other site-specific safety gear. Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, push, pull, twist, climb stairs or ladders, and work in a physically active environment.
- Must be able to lift and move materials or equipment up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training, maintenance certification, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
- Experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, distribution, or facility operations is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of production equipment, facility systems, and maintenance processes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively across teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Comfort using computers or maintenance systems to track work and complete documentation.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hourBenefits:
