The Storekeeper is involved in all functions of the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex Commissary, including processing all requests for supplies and clothing, receiving and stocking supplies and equipment and inventory control. Fitting uniforms for new and existing officers and maintenance employees, receiving shipments, and knowing how to work a forklift safely. Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for receiving and inspecting all items received in the commissary. Inspects shipments for completeness as to quantity order, condition of merchandise and ensures that items received meet order specifications. Provides all packing slips to the Procurement Officer when deliveries are received. Records and reports damaged or incomplete orders to the Procurement Officer. Receives all items in WASP, the agency's inventory system. Responsible for the storage of merchandise using proper procedures for safe operations. Keeps commissary in a neat and sanitary condition. Ensures that items are rotated to assure freshness. Checks stock levels on a regular basis to ensure an adequate inventory of expendable supplies and standard dress clothing items for residents. Notify Procurement Officer when items need to be purchased. Checks each living unit's supplies and prepares a bi-weekly supply order. Ensure orders from all agency departments and living units are filled and delivered to destinations throughout the facility. Updates WASP as items are removed from inventory and delivered to various locations. Ensures that the WASP database is accurate by completing inventory checks regularly. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Obtains on-going training consistent with existing hourly standards to maintain and update professional skills, as a condition of employment. This position, while performing functions in areas of responsibility will promote and support satisfactory and harmonious relationships among all staff in all areas of the facility. Must be capable of performing Essential Functions (See attached to Position Description)- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Work is reviewed by supervisor for results achieved and conformance to instructions.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
One year of experience in storekeeping, including receiving, inspecting, cataloging, and storing goods and maintaining inventory records. (Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency) Must be 21 years of age at time of appointment. High School Diploma or G.E.D. Valid driver's license and/or Valid Identification (ID) Free of felony convictions or adjudication, whether expunged, Free of any felony or misdemeanor domestic violence crime Free of conviction or adjudication by a court of law or court-martial, of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year (whether the sentence was imposed). Free of conviction as an adult of Driving Under the Influence (or comparable law regarding driving while intoxicated or under the influence of a controlled substance) in the past 24 months. Free of conviction or adjudication of a misdemeanor involving drug use or possession in the past 60 months Free of any criminal charges, indictments or outstanding warrants pending. Successful completion of a physical agility test and written assessment administered by the facility Must complete TB screening processPreferred Qualifications:
Ability to deal effectively with individuals under restraint. Knowledge of procedures and practices of supervising juvenile offenders is confined to a juvenile correctional facility. Ability to stand for long periods of time, respond quickly to emergencies.Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:
