Job Description
Warehouse OperatorEssential Functions:
Assists in locating, filling, loading, and unloading materials for and preparing orders for delivery.Moves materials, products or supplies from the designated receiving areas to the designated storage areas.
Attaches a location identification tag or label to each pallet denoting where the pallet will be stored.
Receives incoming material, products and/or supplies.
Counts items received and verify them against packing lists, recording any discrepancies or damage.
Re-packs material or product based on damaged or deteriorated containers, as necessary.
Pulls materials or products from storage areas and/or work sites for orders to be processed and moves the material or products to the designated production or shipping areas.
Lifts heavy objects by hand and/or moves material in a safe manner using a hand truck, a gas or electric powered forklift or other material handling equipment.
Packs materials or products as required on the shipping documents and/or based on the type of transportation applicable.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to the material or product packages and marks information on cases, pallets, and/or other containers.
Reviews the shipping document to insure all required items are pulled correctly and are included for the shipment.
Loads trucks with material and product ready for shipment. Unloads trucks containing purchased material, product and /or supplies.
Performs cycle counting of locations as directed.
Keeps work area, machines, and equipment clean, as necessary.
Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Attends training classes as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Highschool diploma or general education degree (GED).Warehouse experience.Fork truck operation required, or the ability to train and certify in 90 days.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Working Conditions:
Warehouse environment. Rarely temperature controlled.Training may occur on site throughout the yearLifts heavy objects by hand or with equipment. Must be able to safely lift 30-50 pounds.
Physical Demands:
Sit, stand, walk, and move about the warehouse 8 or more hours per day on concrete floors.Talk and hear both in person and on the telephone.
Use hands and fingers to type, write, and use the computer and telephone system.
Stoop, lift, and bend.
