Yard Foreman SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for operating forklift and maintaining production and distribution of product by receiving and/or pulling product from inventory; staging/loading finished goods for shipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates Forklift. Unloads Railcars. Loads and Unloads Trucks. Manages Yard and Housekeeping. Remains compliance with all safety procedures and use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Reviews inventory control participation and compliance. Receives, processes, and ships product safely, accurate and efficiently. Completes all job tasks in a timely fashion, prioritizes to meet customer delivery expectations. Maintains a clean, safe work area. Assists in scheduled cycle & spot counts as needed. Assists in coaching new hires during the on-boarding process. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school Diploma or GED, six months to one-year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, licenses and registrations required: Fork-Lift Certificate.
Computer skills required:
Time & Labor Management System; and Electronic Mail Software (Outlook).
Other skills required:
Solid Communication Skills (both verbal & written). Ability to read a tape measure. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication). Basic computer skills (Preferred). Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work closely with peers on team orientated goals. Ability to follow company directives and instruction.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Continually required to sit. Frequently required to stand and/or walk. Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl. Occasionally exposed to the following outside weather conditions: extreme heat and/or cold, wet and/or humid. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Fork-Lift. 1:00pm-9:30pm
