Job Description

AMETEK TMC
is the leader in precision floor vibration isolation technology serving major research centers, OEMs and end-users around the world. TMC Products enable ultra-precision research, measurements, and manufacturing in fields of photonics, semiconductor manufacturing, life sciences, drug discovery, and nanotechnology. Our products are designed and manufactured at our state of the art, vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Peabody, MA and backed by a customer commitment to provide superior global service. We are looking for an energetic, quick learner with good communication skills, who can meet strict deadlines. The Material Handler role is to facilitate material flow inside the plant, being responsible for daily material transactions, supporting work center associates and planner/buyers with material placement and flow. This position will also act as a backup for shipping/receiving associates, if needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Data entry, sorting and verify accuracy of receiving documentation before entering data into operating system. Process documents such as purchase orders, shipping receipts, enter and process shipping and package information into FedEx, UPS, and computer systems. Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of shipping documentation before entering data into operating system. Coordinate loading of domestic truck and international air logistics for deliveries to customers or internal stockroom locations. Complete receiving and shipping training and can perform transactions for both positions as required in peak times including fork truck operation. Actively participate in continuous improvement (kaizen) events Support the daily 5S, cleaning and maintenance of the facility.
Qualifications:
High School diploma with 3-4 years' experience in material handling / procurement or Associates Degree with at least 2-years' experience Good understanding of shipping and regulations Fork truck and power pallet jack experience or certification Driver's license Proficiency with ERP software General computer skills to include working knowledge of MS Office applications. One to three years of relevant experience in a similar manufacturing environment. Ability to cohesively work in a team environment. Possess and exhibit a positive attitude and winning spirit. Environment:
The employee is continuously required to reach with both hands, arms, and stand for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to sit, squat, turn/twist, reach, use hands to: finger, handle, feel or operate tools or controls and computer keyboards. The employee must frequently lift, carry, hold, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and 70 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be subjected to moving mechanical parts, , extreme temperature and work space restrictions. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
