Material Handler Job Description The Material Handler plays a key role in ensuring materials and products move efficiently through the warehouse and production process. You will receive, store, and dispatch materials, maintain accurate inventory, and support production and shipping activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, safe operation of warehouse equipment, and a commitment to quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and process incoming products and materials in a timely and accurate manner. Accurately pick items from inventory according to pick lists, work orders, or customer orders. Pack orders securely, label them correctly, and prepare them for shipment. Manage, organize, and retrieve stock to support production and shipping schedules. Inspect products and materials for defects, damages, or discrepancies and report issues promptly. Organize warehouse space to maximize efficiency and maintain a clean, orderly work area. Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory systems and RF scanners. Check, verify, and fill customer invoices and associated documentation. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently. Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper handling and placement. Adhere to company quality standards, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures. Participate in training activities and apply new skills to daily tasks. Support team members and collaborate with leads and supervisors to meet production goals. Perform other warehouse and material handling duties as assigned. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or material handling. Experience with inventory processes, including picking, packing, and stock management. Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely. Familiarity with RF scanners and basic warehouse technology. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking and order fulfillment. Excellent organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle physical tasks safely. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on a manufacturing floor. Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a picker/packer in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. Background in shipping and receiving and order picking. Interest in learning additional roles such as quality or machine operation. Willingness to participate in extensive hands-on training and development. Why Work Here?
