Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC (SHM) is the largest owner and operator of marinas in the world. SHM teammates are committed to thinking critically, providing outstanding service and building relationships with all whom we serve. Safe Harbor Kittery Point is looking for a seasonal, part-time Dockhand to join our team. The Dockhand will be responsible for assisting the Dockmaster in serving our marina customers, greeting our members, assisting with the appearance of our docks and customer facilities, and supporting other team members as needed. Position runs now through September 2026/exact date TBD. Estimated 32 hrs/week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet all members & guests in a manner that expresses a kind, courteous and professional character Assist guests and members with general boating inquiries Promptly responding to mooring and slip requests Knowledge of services we offer and local amenities for guests Ability to assist our Dockmaster with boat moves and dock line handling Assisting Dockmaster with all other maintenance tasks including guest provisioning, recycling and refuse management, and a high level of facility appearance Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times Comply with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and adhere to all site rules and expectations Availability to work overtime when required Ability to work weekends and holidays Other duties as assigned by Manager Safety and Environmental Responsibilities Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately Technical and Physical Requirements Ability to work safely around the water Must be able to swim Ability to lift 30 pounds Basic boat handling skills preferred Previous marina experience preferred Previous customer service experience preferred Any skills considered standard that a Dockhand should possess Minimum Soft Skills Qualifications Eagerness to engage in a growing, fast paced, and industry-leading company Consistently treats others with dignity and respect Genuinely serves others with humility and a positive attitude Frequently demonstrates a bias toward action Always communicates effectively and courteously with fellow teammates and members Continuously follows policies and procedures while seeking out new and better ways of accomplishing duties Shows resolve and overcomes difficulties in a positive and productive manner Gladly provides responsive, and high level of service to our teammates and members Eagerly puts forth the extra effort to accomplish duties Adapts quickly and efficiently to changing priorities in order to meet teammate or member needs Safe Harbor Marinas provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applications for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
