Warehouse Associate

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM
  • 3:00 PM, with overtime available Midwest Metals is a vertically integrated metal manufacturer, and our Detroit facility keeps product moving to customers across the region.
We're looking for a dependable Warehouse Associate to manage the daily flow of material—picking, packing, shipping, and receiving—while hitting our carrier cut-offs without sacrificing accuracy or safety. What You'll Do Pick, pack, ship, and receive product accurately and efficiently Operate an overhead crane and forklift to move material safely Use a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and handheld RF scanners to track inventory Verify labels and order details to prevent costly shipping errors Prioritize tasks to meet strict carrier cut-off times and daily productivity targets Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe What We're Looking For Overhead crane experience Forklift experience Experience with picking, packing, shipping, and receiving Basic computer literacy and comfort using a WMS or handheld RF scanners Strong attention to detail—accurately picking the right items, verifying labels, and preventing costly shipping errors Good communication skills Time management—the ability to prioritize tasks, meet strict carrier cut-off times, and maintain productivity targets Physical Requirements Stamina to spend long shifts on your feet—walking, bending, and kneeling Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and occasionally more
