General Laborer Job Description We are looking for a dedicated General Laborer to join our team. This role involves working with wash/paint and inspection processes for glass products. The position offers a stable work schedule with the opportunity for growth and skill development. Candidates will be hired directly from their resume. Responsibilities Produce high-quality painted glass products on time, safely, and at the lowest possible cost. Demonstrate respect, positivity, and a strong work ethic on the shop floor. Prepare paint for use on automated paint machines and hand-spraying equipment. Communicate with the tempering line and inspect products based on daily production schedules. Clean wet paint from glass edges and surfaces to ensure proper finish. Work closely with teammates to rack, cure, and bake newly painted glass pieces. Hand-spray small-volume or custom orders as needed. Create, retain, and catalog job-specific paint samples and touch-up paint bottles. Formulate small paint batches to accurately match customer-supplied master samples. Apply masks and layouts to create custom logos and designs. Incorporate remake requests and rush orders into the daily production schedule. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the paint area at the end of each shift. Operate and understand the function of ovens used to cure paint. Ensure proper spray patterns on paint machines. Change paper rolls on equipment as required. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of paint machines, components, and surrounding work areas. Read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials (BOMs), and specifications. Use inspection equipment to measure and evaluate products. Communicate any issues with prints, BOMs, or parts to the supervisor in a timely manner. Manage inspection and packing material inventory. Assist with daily quality decision making by understanding quality standards and customer requirements. Ensure fabricated and painted laminated glass meets internal quality standards and customer specifications. Escalate daily quality questions or concerns as needed. Accept or reject finished products and communicate inspection results with the production team. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives. Support the improvement of internal control systems. Independently address and resolve issues promptly. Assist with the Preventive Maintenance program as needed. Support other production areas when required. Organize and clean the inspection area at the end of each shift. Essential Skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications. Experience with inspection equipment such as tape measures, gauges, and templates. Capability to operate spray guns and tape measures. Experience in loading and unloading glass products. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in the furniture industry is beneficial. Understanding of quality standards that align with ASTM standards. Why Work Here?
