Warehouse Worker - 2nd Shift Job Description This 2nd shift Warehouse Worker role focuses on picking and packing bottles of wine and spirits throughout a high-volume warehouse. You will handle cases of product, prepare orders for shipment, and support core warehouse operations such as loading and unloading trucks and replenishing inventory. The position requires consistent heavy lifting, reliable attendance, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Responsibilities Pick and pack bottle orders accurately across the warehouse, ensuring products are prepared correctly for shipment. Move cases of wine and spirits throughout the warehouse, including staging, sorting, and organizing products. Physically lift and stock 40-50 pound cases of wine and liquor onto shelves and pallets on a consistent basis. Replenish inventory in designated locations to ensure products are readily available for order fulfillment. Load and unload trucks with cases of product, using safe lifting techniques and following warehouse procedures. Use RF scanners or similar tools to pick orders, track inventory, and confirm shipments and receipts. Perform general labor and general production tasks to support daily warehouse operations. Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments. Maintain a clean and safe work area by removing debris and organizing products and materials. Follow all safety guidelines when working around moving mechanical parts, equipment, and vehicles. Demonstrate consistent, reliable attendance and willingness to work full 12-hour shifts as scheduled. Adapt to a busy, sometimes cluttered or chaotic environment, especially during peak morning loading times. Essential Skills At least 1 year of general labor experience, ideally in a warehouse setting. Ability to lift, push, and pull 40-50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the shift. Experience with order picking, packing, and general warehouse inventory tasks. Ability to perform loading and unloading of trucks safely and efficiently. Proven attendance record in previous positions, demonstrating reliability and punctuality. Capability to work 12-hour shifts and remain productive in a physically demanding role. Comfort working around moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and loud noise levels. Basic familiarity with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with RF scanners for picking, inventory, or shipping and receiving is beneficial. general production, warehouse packing, or warehouse inventory work is an advantage. Ability to perform heavy lifting repeatedly while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Willingness to work 2nd shift hours from 12:00 pm to 8:00 am, Sunday through Thursday. You will frequently work around moving mechanical parts and equipment, with noticeable vibration and loud noise levels. The shift runs from 12:00 pm to 8:00 am, Sunday through Thursday, and may involve 12-hour workdays as needed. Dress code includes non-slip tennis shoes or boots with good traction, and jeans, pants, or shorts that are not too short, revealing, or loose, to support safety and comfort on the warehouse floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Grand Rapids, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
