Job Description

GENERAL LABORER

Key Responsibilities This role involves performing a variety of tasks that support production operations, including painting, parts washing, parts picking, and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate will maintain cleanliness in production areas and equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. Execute miscellaneous tasks that directly or indirectly relate to production operations, contributing to overall efficiency. Perform painting, parts washing, and parts picking, along with other operations necessary for product production. Operate entry-level machine tools, including deburring, drill presses, and lapping equipment. Maintain or exceed the established production rate, ensuring timely and quality output. Provide training and support to less experienced operators as needed. Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions according to established protocols. Keep the work area and equipment clean and organized, adhering to prescribed safety regulations. Carry out light preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties in assigned work areas. Complete assigned tasks as per manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision. Uphold an acceptable attendance record and overall work performance, while acquiring and maintaining required tools for the role. Undertake additional duties as assigned by supervision or management to support production operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in a production environment preferred. Basic understanding of machine tool operations and production processes. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety and cleanliness. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks as required.
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
Work performed in a shop environment. May work at different workstations as production needs require. Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes. Standing entire shift. Lift up to 50 lbs. Bending and stooping throughout shift. Ability to work at heights using a standard 6-8 foot step ladder as needed. Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as hoist, positioners, pallet jacks, fork trucks, etc. Must be able to lift, push, and pull materials and equipment to complete assigned tasks
Training Requirements:
General safety training. Safety training as required by customers. ISO 9001 and applicable processes and procedures. Forklift certification. Overhead crane certification. Lockout/tagout training.
