This role involves assisting with purchasing tasks, managing inventory, and providing hands-on support in the warehouse. Familiarity with electrical equipment and proficiency with computer systems are essential, as the position requires regular use of our inventory management software. Key Responsibilities Purchasing Support:
Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to source electrical and solar equipment, materials, and supplies. Prepare purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods. Maintain accurate records of vendor quotes, purchase orders, and invoices. Conduct price comparisons and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms. Assist with forecasting inventory needs based on historical data and project requirements. Documenting Standard Operating Procedures Research and identify new suppliers to expand vendor network Stay updated on market trends and cost fluctuations to optimize purchasing strategies.
Inventory Management:
Regularly update the inventory management system with accurate stock levels. Monitor inventory to prevent overstocking or shortages. Support cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records. Generate inventory reports to assist management in decision-making. Print Barcodes for vehicles or the warehouse as needed.
Warehouse Support:
Assist the Warehouse Manager with receiving, organizing, and stocking deliveries. Verify incoming shipments for accuracy and condition. Support the preparation and staging of materials for field crews. Help maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
General Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively with team members and vendors to resolve issues. Stay informed about electrical and solar equipment to ensure informed purchasing decisions. Provide administrative support as needed, including filing and data entry. Adhere to company policies and safety guidelines in all tasks.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred. 1-2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or a related field. Familiar with electrical equipment
Skills:
Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Familiarity with electrical and solar equipment is highly preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks in the warehouse. Comfortable working in a warehouse environment as well as an office setting. Why Michigan Solar Solutions?
