APPRENTICE or JOURNEYMAN LINE WORKER

Frame poles, set poles, string wire, and perform energized line work in accordance with applicable safety standards. Operate and maintain equipment including bucket trucks, digger derricks, cable plows, and backhoes. Troubleshoot outages and restore electric service safely and efficiently. Perform system maintenance to support safe and reliable electric service. Respond to outage, emergency, and on-call situations, as assigned. Maintain a strong commitment to safety for employees, members, and the public. What We're Looking For Combination of education and experience equivalent to a minimum of 2+ years in electric utility line work. Logged experience hours (ability to enroll & apply hours) or enrollment in a Line Worker apprenticeship training program. Experience in electric distribution systems preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Strong understanding of electric distribution construction, maintenance, and operations. Journeyman Candidates:
Journeyman Line Worker certification required. Advanced Apprentice Candidates:
Must be able to actively progress through line worker apprenticeship training program (logged experience hours & books). Define progress/status during application process. Additional Expectations Position is required to be available to respond within 30min during a scheduled weekly on-call rotation, on average, every 6 weeks. Must live within 20min of the Pelican Rapids facility. Availability to work outside standard business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, particularly during outages or emergency situations. Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screening including physical examination, drug screening, background check, reference check, and motor vehicle record check. This position's starting union wage range is $37.50 - $50.00/hr with a training progression period and wage adjustments to conclude over 4 years. Job offer rates are determined based on the candidate's specific logged experience hours and books completed, in alignment with union defined progression steps.
