Job Title:
Warehouse Worker Job Description This role focuses on receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items within a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. The warehouse worker maintains accurate inventory records, ensures items are stored safely and efficiently, and supports overall warehouse operations by following established procedures and safety standards. Responsibilities Receive incoming stock items and materials, verify quantities, and accurately record data manually or using computer systems. Count and document inventory levels regularly to maintain accurate stock records. Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. Verify inventory computations by comparing system records to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors as needed. Store items in an orderly, safe, and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other designated areas. Label stock items clearly using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment to ensure easy identification and tracking. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational standards. Keep detailed records on the use, movement, and any damage of stock or stock-handling equipment. Examine and inspect stock items for wear, defects, or damage and promptly report issues to supervisors. Provide assistance, guidance, or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers to support efficient operations. Operate warehouse equipment such as cherry pickers and other material handling tools to pick, move, and organize inventory. Perform inventory picking tasks accurately and efficiently to support order fulfillment and material handling needs. Essential Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and document inventory information. Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and operational issues. Ability to work effectively as a team player while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Knowledge of relevant warehouse equipment and material handling tools, including cherry pickers. Understanding of policies, procedures, and strategies that support effective security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and facilities. High school diploma or GED required. 2-4 years of experience in a warehouse or similar environment required, with previous experience in roles such as Material Handler. Experience with inventory, picking, and material handling in a warehouse setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagan, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
