Job Description

LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN HANDLE PHYSICLLY DEMANDING WORK THAT MAINLY USES THEIR BODY

THAN PRIMARILY MENTAL OR OFFICE-BASED SKILLS. WHAT MAKES IT HARD IS THE INTENSITY

HOURS, HEAVY LOADS, REPTETITVE MOTION OR WORKING IN TOUFH CONDITIONS LIKE HEAT, OR COLD. ITS THE WORK THAT'S PHYSICLLY TIRING AND REQUIRED STRENGHT AND STAMINA. MANAGER WILL REVIEW RESUMES AND POSSIBLY INTERVIEW.
The Pallet Reman/Pallet Builder builds wooden pallets from recycled materials, deconstructed pallets and/or lumber. In some locations they may also repair pallets by taking damaged pallets sent from our customers and return them to service-ready condition, before consolidating and shipping them back to the customer. Must be comfortable operating tools used to complete repairs, including but not limited to:
  • Nail gun
  • Manual & electric saws
  • Hammer
  • Wire brushes
  • Pneumatic tools Responsibilities and Expectations
  • Must be accountable for achieving 48forty results while maintaining 48forty?s core values and safety standards
  • Ability to complete all production paperwork with accuracy
  • Utilize appropriate tools and methods to build pallets
  • Utilize appropriate tools and methods to return damaged pallets to service-ready condition
  • Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager
  • Examine products after repairing to verify conformance to quality standards
  • Ability to maintain 48forty?s efficiency and performance standards of production
  • Must maintain a clean & safe working environment that meets 48forty?s standards
  • Build the given number of pallets, once training is complete
  • Repair the given number of pallets, once training is complete
  • Expected to be able to work without constant supervision to achieve production quotas in the repair area, safely
  • Stack pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions
  • Check loads to make sure they are secure Requirements
  • Requires quick hands, attention to detail, commitment to quality
  • Observance of all safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardized requirements exist
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills needed Experience
  • Demonstrated experience safely operating air-driven, electric, pneumatic, and manual woodworking tools
  • Previous experience in welding, lumbering, construction, carpentry, or roofing is strongly preferred
  • High school degree or GED required

  • Repetitively lift up to75 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths in time
  • The employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear, walk and use hands to handle, feel and reach.
  • The noise level in the work environment depends on location.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
  • Must have a good sense of balance & good eye-hand-foot coordination
  • Constant standing, bending, and twisting
