Onsite Position Summary:
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near work site. Inspects materials for quality/defects. Able to identify material by part number or written description. Manually moves materials onto or from pallets and shelves. Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Cleans work area, machines, and equipment. Assembles crates to contain products when required. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Adheres to all safety rules and regulations. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time and repetitively lift up to 50 pounds. The Senior Material Handler is responsible for performing shipping, material movement, and receiving duties, as well as confirming inventory levels. This role directly impacts both internal and external customers, as well as the Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality goals of the division. Routine internal contacts may include Sales Administration, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Material Handling, and Planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of customer orders by picking, packing, and labeling products according to established guidelines and safety standards. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and efficient workflow. Perform a range of supply chain logistics tasks, such as receiving, replenishment, and picking, while strictly following WMS procedures and safety guidelines. Address routine operational issues as they arise, applying established protocols to resolve problems efficiently and maintain workflow continuity. Assist in packing and shipping activities, ensuring that all products are accurately prepared for dispatch and meet quality control requirements. Processes all required paperwork to ensure the material transactions occur for all departmental activities. Work with the department Associate Team Leaders and Team Leaders to ensure compliance with all cGMP, ISO and FDA guidelines for warehouse activities. May need to drive a truck for material transport of product from one location to another. Provides training to others within the department. Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification & Experience:
High school Diploma 1-2 years of applicable experience Organizing work and resources efficiently to ensure smooth operations Practicing time management to allocate tasks, balance priorities, and meet deadlines efficiently Knowledge of Kaizen and 5S principles. Ability to work cross-functionally allowing for better collaboration and communication when working across teams to achieve shared objectives Easily accessible and open to communication Effectively navigate social interactions in the workplace Build and maintain positive, productive interactions with colleagues Participate in a way that enhances team performance and cohesion.
