Job Description

Description Position Summary The Senior Material Handler is responsible for performing shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material movement activities in support of manufacturing and distribution operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring inventory accuracy, on‑time order fulfillment, and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The position supports internal and external customers while contributing to bioMérieux's Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality objectives. Primary Responsibilities Pick, pack, and label customer orders accurately in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines Receive and process materials from manufacturing and suppliers, ensuring proper identification and labeling Stock materials in designated locations while maintaining 5S standards, inventory accuracy, and safe storage practices Perform physical inventory counts of raw materials and finished goods, including warehouse and cooler locations Process required documentation to ensure accurate material transactions within ERP/WMS systems Support shipping activities, including preparation of carrier documentation and verification of lot numbers and package weights Maintain clean, organized warehouse and work areas and participate in 5S audits as required Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including cGMP, ISO, and FDA requirements Collaborate with Team Leaders and Associate Team Leaders to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards Operate material handling equipment and, as required, drive vehicles to transport materials between locations Provide training and guidance to other team members Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and inventory control Perform all duties in accordance with company quality standards and procedures Complete additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Minimum of 1 year of applicable experience in warehouse or material handling operations Experience with ERP and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Experience with picking, packing, receiving, and inventory control activities Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a regulated manufacturing or distribution environment Experience working in environments governed by cGMP, ISO, or FDA requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong organizational and time‑management skills Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods Ability to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, and ramps Ability to wear required PPE for most of the workday Ability to operate material handling equipment and heavy machinery Ability to lift, push, pull, and move objects up to 50 pounds Domestic and international travel: not required The pay for this role is between $17.50/hr. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux's bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate's experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
