Warehouse Worker Job Description This role focuses on receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items within a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. You will help maintain accurate inventory records, ensure items are stored and labeled correctly, and support a clean, safe, and efficient operation in a climate-controlled facility. Responsibilities + Receive incoming stock items, count quantities accurately, and record data manually or using a computer system. + Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. + Verify inventory records by comparing system data to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or correct errors as needed. + Store items in an orderly, clearly labeled, and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other designated areas. + Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment to ensure proper tracking. + Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to support compliance with safety regulations. + Keep accurate records on the use, movement, and any damage of stock or stock handling equipment. + Examine and inspect stock items for wear, defects, or damage and promptly report issues to supervisors. + Provide assistance, guidance, or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers as needed. + Perform lifting, scanning, picking, packing, auditing, shipping, and receiving tasks in support of daily operations. + Use RF scanners and related warehouse technology to locate, track, and update inventory. + Match labels accurately to ensure correct items are packed and shipped to the right destinations. + Work on your feet throughout the shift while maintaining productivity and attention to detail. + Follow established policies, procedures, and security strategies to protect people, data, property, and inventory.
