Transportation & Facilities Director SUMMARY:
As a driver, the employee is responsible for the timely, safe, and efficient pick-up and delivery of product in a professional manner. As a Warehouse Associate he/she plays an important role in ensuring the highest level of inventory accuracy and the overall efficiency of the warehouse.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Uses SMFB in-house computers to access SMFB data bases for security purposes. Performs data entry of information as required. Utilizes conscientious and safe handling of pallet jacks, hand dollies, and forklifts Loads and unloads trucks; moving product using a forklift, pallet jack, or by hand. Complies with safety policies and programs developed for warehouse operations. Performs routine inspection/preventive maintenance of fleet vehicles and all warehouse equipment, as assigned and required and maintains inspection logs as required. Performs monthly inventory count by physically counting and accurately recording product quantity and type
WORKS AT ALL TIMES TO KEEP IMAGE OF FOOD BANK A POSITIVE ONE IN THE PUBLIC VIEW.
Food Safety Attends annual food safety training for food bank staff and follows food safety policies. Delivery & Pick-up Performs timely, safe, and efficient pick-up and delivery of the products. Provides excellent customer service to donors and partner agencies. Complies with safety policies and programs including the seat belt and mobile device policies. New Product Processing Assists with verifying all shipments, checking temperatures and inspecting per USDA requirements (if applicable), and inspecting for damage and infestation. Assists with transporting and placing product in designated storage locations. Assists with verifying and recording new product on the Incoming Food Inspection Report and returns report to Inventory/Supply Chain Director. Order Pulling & Product Distribution Using SMFB Pick Lists, picks non-perishable and perishable products, labels, tags, and stages in appropriate area and records picked quantities. All other duties as assigned, with or without notice.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read and write in English and at a level that is generally accepted as literate. Possess basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. Computer literate, able to perform data entry and possess an ability to learn new technology at a fast pace. Ability to operate material handling equipment such as hand dollies and pallet jacks. High level of personal integrity and honesty. Maintain all current licenses, certifications, and medical cards in accordance/compliance with the organization, State, and Federal mandated requirements. Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Have a valid Missouri Class E license with good driving record. Clean and neat appearance and team attitude.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Warehouse environment: extensive walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying items weighing in excess of 70 pounds; operation of material- handling equipment; regularly exposed to variable weather conditions from mild to extreme heat and cold, fumes, air particles; contact with volunteers and customers; periodically works extended hours.
